By popular request, I’m excited to share the tools that have become essential to my astrology practice, both for my personal enrichment and my astrology business. While I do include an affiliate link for Luna Astrology, please know that I have thoroughly vetted and used all of these tools for years. They have become indispensable to me, and I wholeheartedly recommend them based on my personal experience. 🥰
**I will also add to this list as I find useful tools/books to share on here over time.
Let’s get to it!
I’ve recommend so many of my students to this astrology software and they haven’t gone back after trying it out. This is by far my favorite software out there – the ease of use is superior.
For someone who spends hours analyzing charts, the aesthetic appeal of Luna Astrology is a breath of fresh air. It feels personal, almost like it was crafted just for me and my unique approach to astrology. I’m an incredibly visual/design forward person and even it’s UX design is incredible.
The intuitive design means that I can quickly find the information I need without getting bogged down in technical details. I can’t tell you how many times even my clients commented on how beautiful their chart looked and how much less overwhelming it was when I share my screen to begin reading for them.
I know a lot of people are well aware of Magic of I’s astrology planner. But I want to do you one better. Especially if you’re serious about learning the technical transitory/election of astrology and want it personalized to your chart.
They also have a digital PDF version if hardcopy is not your thing. I personally like the hardcopy as there’s something tactile I can work with. It’s also an excuse for me to use my gel pens and highlights cause I’m old school. 😜
I will say there is a learning curve to using this almanac if you’re still an astrology beginner. Their co-founders made an incredibly helpful Youtube video walkthrough on how to best utilize the planner that you can watch here.
This app has become a part of my morning ritual as I wake up and make my daily morning coffee. It’s a quick way to get an breakdown interpretation of how the daily stars in the sky will be affecting my personal natal chart. It’ll indicate the applying and separating orbs by exact date, time, and degrees.
If you’re learning to still read aspects fluently in a natal chart – this app is a great companion to Luna.
You can also make multiple charts for your loved ones to compare synastry as well if that’s your thing. You can also create secondary progressions. I would recommend Time Passages if you want to take your knowledge of how transitory aspects affect your natal chart more seriously.
I’m a big avid user of Google calendar and sometimes want all my forecasting in one place if I’m jumping in between meetings and don’t have time to pull out my planner.
Magic of I’s digital astrology forecast calendar download is fantastic for getting a quick rundown of key astrological events that take place day by day down to the time it occurs. It also displays void of course moons if you’re into that sort of thing too.
The free version that’s closest to what Magic of I offers would be the digital calendar on Astro Seek, but there’s no download button for it to be seen on Google or Apple Calendar. But it’s still helpful if you want to bookmark the link to see what the event breakdowns are.
I stumbled upon this book about 4 years ago deep into my journey of needing to work through father & mother wounding. This book has been an invaluable resource on looking at some of the early childhood challenges I’ve encountered through the lens of astrology.
There are chart examples, diagrams to help you synthesize the information. I particularly love the chapter on 8th house placements and aspects as this house is where we often carry inherited ancestral stories and trauma from our parental lineages.
Even years later, I find myself referring back to this book constantly as it’s a constant reminder that many of the business blocks/challenges that you may be encountering can imply an energetic mirror to the stories (it’s often subtle an not obvious – but still pervasive) we’ve been taught in the family at an early age.
Adding degree interpretation to both New & Full Moon pieces have been a lovely addition thanks to this book. There are actually several different degree theory interpretations out there but this one has become quickly a favorite as I find myself resonating, and being able to connect visually with the words in this book the most.
Degree interpretation is still such an untapped resource. Many astrologers who share transit forecasts don’t include degree significations unless it’s a critical degree. If you want to deepen you interpretative skills besides just understanding decans – I recommend having this book as a long term resource.
And if you want to dive into degree theory in a SUPER deep way and won’t get lost in the weeds (perfect if you have Virgo inner planets), here’s a free resource pdf of all 360 degrees interpretations from 14 of the most respected astrologers around the world. You’re welcome 🙂
This is probably my number 1, most commonly recommended book out there for astrology enthusiasts who want to gain a better understanding of their nodes. If there’s any point in your chart to understand, it’s your North Node & South Node axis.
Quick breakdown for those that don’t know what nodes are: They’re significant points in our natal charts that reveal our soul’s journey and karmic lessons. These nodes are not physical celestial bodies but rather mathematical points where the Moon’s orbit intersects the ecliptic, the Sun’s apparent path around the Earth.
Spiller has since passed – but I believe her legacy, her magnum opus lives on in the brilliance that is this book.
Since consciously working with the nodes in my own personal life, my life has taken quite a dramatic and abrupt shift for the better. Working with the nodes won’t be comfortable – it never is. But it’ll be the most rewarding thing to work on. And this book is essentially the holy grail on all things Nodal work & integration.
