The Fiery Path Awaits...
Via Combusta is the astrological term for "the fiery path" or "the burning way." In traditional astrology, it refers to a specific passage of the zodiac between 15° Libra and 15° Scorpio, considered the most unstable and challenging territory the moon can traverse. This is where the moon walks through darkness, death, transformation, and rebirth. It's a zone of purification by fire, where what is inauthentic burns away and what is essential is forged. Ancient astrologers considered this passage dangerous for beginnings, but potent for endings, shadow work, and initiatory transformation. It's where we confront what we'd rather avoid: power, desire, loss, rage, grief, and the parts of ourselves we've exiled. The moon in Via Combusta doesn't get to bypass. It has to walk through the flames. This is the territory we're in collectively. A culture burning through its illusions. A world undergoing purification whether we consent or not. And us, trying to stay awake, ethical, and embodied while crossing the fire.
Season One launches in the Year of the Fire Horse, a rare and potent occurrence in Chinese astrology that happens only once every 60 years. The Fire Horse is wild, untamable, fiercely independent, and born to run through flames. Horses born in this year are said to bring revolutionary change, creative destruction, and the courage to break from convention. They refuse domestication. They carry initiatory fire. We will ride through Season 1 learning to stay wild and sovereign while systems burn and rebuild around us. Let's walk the burning way together, guided by wild horses crossing fire.
