New Moon in 00°22’ Virgo 🌑 Aug 22nd, 2025, at 11:06 pm PT

Tomorrow’s New Moon in Virgo will actually be the 1st of two Virgo lunations we’ll be having this year. The next new moon in Virgo will happen next month as a solar eclipse. This 6-week unfolding will bring progress through the house of your chart that Virgo rules.

Virgo also rules the nervous system, the gut, and the body’s ability to process both nutrients and stress. When we live in a time where every news cycle, every conversation, seems to carry another collective tower moment, the body becomes the frontline. Despair that never gets metabolized becomes inflammation. Fear that has no exit turns into chronic pain, shallow breathing, or insomnia. Virgo’s gift is through the language of the pain-body. When you rotate your wrists after a long work session in front of the computer, do you feel tightness?

Or no matter what you try to relieve shoulder pain, it shows up each and every day as chronic pain? This lunation wants you to finally pay attention to the psychosomatic relationship between your emotional memory and your physical body.

The body will always speak when the mind refuses to listen. And if we keep intellectualizing our experiences without integrating them somatically, the message gets louder. What can begin as tension in the neck, low-grade fatigue, or a skipped heartbeat of intuition from our guides can escalate into our bodies staging an intervention. From waking up to a completely frozen shoulder, to urgent care visits, ER trips, panic attacks, sudden burnout.

Virgo energy, in particular, has a way of pulling the emergency brake when we ignore the early warning signs. It insists that the body is not a machine to be pushed past its limits.

Lately I’ve also noticed a common growing pattern begin to emerge this month. In one spiritual community I’m a part of, people keep sharing how their appetite has shifted dramatically this month, foods they once craved now feel almost repellant.

As I’m writing this, I’m also in the middle of fasting (on day 3). This fast was unplanned. Earlier this week, I woke up and my body simply decided this is what it wanted to do. I’m letting my body guide me. I weirdly no longer crave red meat since August came around. When I do crave food, I’m constantly thinking about tumeric, tofu, ginger and blueberries. It’s been very strange. It’s as though my body is selecting its own medicine, recalibrating itself without me needing to micromanage the process.

What’s interesting to note is that Virgo is also in my 4th house of home and family. I have a very tumultuous relationship with food due to my family’s upbringing. I notice gut issues, stomach pain, and digestion issues stir up whenever I’m dealing with family situations. This year alone, I’ve experienced three deaths in my family, each one resurfacing old emotional knots. Food has often been the stage where those unresolved patterns play out, both for me and for my family.

I’ve been shown that this season calls for a deeper level of cleansing than simply organizing my physical home or email inbox…. For the next six weeks, I’m practicing weekly cord removal/pulling ceremonies, specifically working through the energetic baggage I’ve carried from my family. My body welcomes it. Yearns for it, even.

It’s as if the cells have been waiting for me to recognize that digestion isn’t just about food, it’s about which family stories, which ancestral burdens, I continue to swallow and which ones I finally choose to release.

Whether you want to give credit to the Schumann resonances, an increase of solar flares, and earth going through a massive energy shift, we as humans are adapting our bodies naturally to accommodate all of the shifts going on around the world, and also to our awakening process. We notice communities taking spontaneous breaks from social noise. We see bodies insisting on less stimulation and beginning to yearn for food that is medicine.

On a more intuitive note, it’s easy to sense that many of us are practicing a form of cellular listening, tuning into the body not just for health, but for spiritual preparation. The years ahead may test our resilience, and the body must be strong enough to hold what consciousness is awakening us to.

Artificial sugar, alcohol, drugs…these are relics of an old world that numbed us into compliance. Anesthesia that dulled our “clairs,” the subtle senses designed to perceive truth beyond the visible. Virgo season exposes where those coping mechanisms are incompatible with the clarity we’re now being asked to cultivate.

Alongside shifting our relationship with food, there are tools to help release the emotional debris that weakens the body’s natural coherence. Practices like The Emotion Code by Bradley Nelson can support the clearing of stored grief, fear, or resentment before they harden into the body’s architecture. When we tend to the unseen weight, light returns. Frequency rises. The body becomes less of a cage and more of a vessel for spirit.

And also beyond this 6 week period, know that this isn’t a “just for this moon” assignment. Virgo teaches that health is built in the quiet repetition of daily habits. Healing doesn’t have to be dramatic.

The more you treat your body as an ally, the more resilient you’ll be as the collective destabilization continues. In a world where chaos amplifies, discipline in caring for the body becomes one of the most radical spiritual practices we can choose.

Luna Astrology – New Moon in Virgo 🌑 Aug 22nd, 2025, at 11:06 pm PT

New Moon at the threshold degree of Virgo applies to a square with Uranus around 1° Gemini. Both Virgo and Gemini are Mercury-ruled, so the nervous system, breath, and information channels become the main conduits for how this lunation expresses itself. Think of it as rising weather: sudden downloads of data, abrupt pivots to schedules, sleep disturbances, tech or travel hiccups, which is all possible within the 48-hour window surrounding this lunation.

The Sun ingresses Virgo the same day, so this New Moon sets the tone for the whole 30 day solar cycle, anchored in first decan Virgo themes of skill, craft, and functional order.

Virgo season rewards daily repetition over dramatic overhauls. And this lunation will emphasize that when you take your body into consideration. Eating and sleeping on repeatable rhythms will be incredibly beneficial during this eclipse season.

Venus will also be squaring Chiron in Aries this new moon. If we sacrifice our own needs to appease the needs of others, the body may protest. Cancer ties to stomach, breasts, lymph, and fluids. Aries ties to head, adrenals, inflammation, and acute heat. Watch for stress gastritis, jaw clenching, migraines, lymph stagnation, chest tightness, and cortisol surges after relational friction.

New Moon in Virgo 🌑 1° Insight & Symbolism

1° Virgo:

“An idealized portrait in a fancy frame.”

– The Zodiac By Degrees by Martin Goldsmith

In the body, this degree can speak to the ways we project an image of health or balance without tending to the raw truth beneath. The polished portrait hides the moments of fatigue, inflammation, or disregulation, the parts that don’t fit the aesthetic of “wellness.”

With this New Moon squaring Uranus in Gemini, the frame might crack. New, disruptive information may expose what the portrait leaves out, forcing us to reconcile the curated self with the lived one.

Virgo New Moon To-Do’s & Tips

  • Virgo is ruled by Mercury. Your body is constantly digesting both food and information. Take stock of what you’re consuming. Remove what overstimulates your nervous system or inflames your gut (too much caffeine, doomscrolling before bed, high-stress conversations).
  • Choose a small, repeatable practice you can commit to for the next 6 weeks and see what happens. Think: a morning walk, herbal tea before bed, meal-prepping anti-inflammatory foods, or a daily journaling session to offload mental clutter.
  • Add probiotic-rich foods (sauerkraut, kefir, kimchi) or gentle digestive support (peppermint tea, warm lemon water in the morning).
  • With the Moon squaring Uranus, there’s a risk of mental overdrive. Schedule “white space.” Give yourself 20-minute break mid-day with no phone, no conversation, no multitasking.
  • Zero degrees is the beginner’s mind. Approach your health, your habits, and your self-care as if you’re learning them fresh, because you are.
  • Virgo thrives in functional space. Choose a drawer, your desk, or your fridge. Clearing one area frees up mental bandwidth and soothes your system.

Career & Business Tips

  • Refine one offer, tighten your messaging, or update copy so it reflects your current expertise instead of last year’s version of you.
  • Just as Virgo rules digestion, your business “digests” inputs, leads, collaborations, content ideas. Clear out what’s draining energy or producing low returns. Make space for opportunities that actually nourish growth.
  • Venus square Chiron can highlight where over-giving leads to resentment. Tighten contracts, clarify scope, and practice saying no. Your health and your business depend on it.
  • No offer, launch, or client win is worth burning out your body. Find ways to ask for help, streamline processes so it’s not so overwhelming. The Virgo–Pisces polarity asks you to integrate spiritual care into your business care. The more regulated your nervous system, the more creative and strategic your work will be.

Aries Rising

→ 6th House: Daily routines, health, work, service, habits, self-discipline

Lately, it feels like your body has been quietly filing complaints while you have been too busy running the whole operation to notice. You keep promising yourself you will slow down, after this project, after this trip, after this one last late night, but “after” never seems to arrive. The New Moon in Virgo lands in your 6th house and suddenly the smallest things feel loud. The twinge in your shoulder when you reach for your coffee. The way your stomach knots every time you check your inbox. The exhaustion that is not fixed by a single night’s sleep. You start realizing your body has been holding a backlog of unprocessed feelings like unpaid invoices, and the interest rate just went up.

Venus in Cancer squaring Chiron in your sign cuts closer to the bone. You might notice that when someone you love needs you, you push your own needs to the bottom of the list without hesitation. You call it love, but your body calls it depletion. In the background, Jupiter in Cancer trining the North Node in Pisces sends a quieter message. It is the reminder that tending to your body is a spiritual act. Every glass of water, every boundary you hold, every breath you take before responding is a form of devotion to the life you are here to live. You do not have to be running at full speed to matter. You can still serve others without hollowing yourself out in the process.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Block out one uninterrupted hour each week to tend to your body like it is your most important project. That could mean meal prepping, booking a massage, taking a long walk, or simply napping without guilt. Protect this hour like you would a client meeting.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
Where in my daily life am I still choosing the appearance of strength over the actual experience of well-being?

Taurus Rising

→  5th House: Creativity, self-expression, romance, joy, inner child, fertility

You have been telling yourself you will make more space for joy once things “settle down,” but the calendar never stops filling itself. You convince yourself that the art project, the weekend getaway, the day of nothing but music and sunlight will happen later, after you finish being responsible. Then the New Moon in Virgo lights up your 5th house and it becomes harder to ignore that joy has been waiting at the back door for months, knocking softly while you are busy answering everyone else’s calls. You feel flashes of longing for the person you are when you are laughing so hard you cannot speak, when you are making something just because you want to see what it looks like in the world.

There may be a memory or feeling you have tucked away because it is too tender, and yet it hums beneath your interactions with people you love. It could be a wound around not feeling special enough, not feeling chosen, or being celebrated only when you perform in a certain way. This lunation is a chance to notice where those old imprints still dictate how freely you create, love, and allow yourself to be seen. Say yes to small moments of connection that feed your creativity, even if they do not have an obvious purpose. You may find yourself learning something that expands your perspective simply by being in the right conversation at the right time.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Choose one creative or playful activity and treat it like a standing appointment for the next 6 weeks. Protect it from cancellations, even from yourself.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
What parts of my joy have I been putting off for a “better time,” and what would it look like to make them part of my life right now?

Gemini Rising

→ 4th House: Home, family, roots, emotional foundation, private life, ancestry

It could be that recently, your home has started to feel like a storage unit for everything you do not have the bandwidth to process. The dishes you leave in the sink when you are too tired. The emails you read and then leave unanswered because you cannot summon the right words. Even the rooms themselves feel like they are holding the weight of unfinished conversations and half-formed intentions. The New Moon in Virgo lands in your 4th house, drawing your attention back to the space and the emotional climate you live in every day.

The Moon’s square to Uranus in Gemini stirs up something unexpected inside you. It could be an abrupt realization about your living situation, a sudden change in your relationship with family, or a memory that surfaces without warning. The disruption might feel like someone pulling a rug out from under you, but it could also be the first step toward creating a living environment that actually feels like it belongs to you. Your sense of belonging is not in the physical structure alone. It is in the way you feel when you walk through your own door. Perhaps there is a part of you that has never felt fully at home in any one place, or a part that believes stability can only come at the cost of freedom. This lunation asks you to notice where you may still be carrying other people’s definitions of home and to decide what yours truly looks like.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Make one intentional change to your home this week that directly supports your nervous system. That could be as simple as clearing clutter from your bedside table, setting up softer lighting, or moving a chair to catch the morning light.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
What would my home look and feel like if it fully supported the version of me I am becoming?

Cancer Rising

→ 3rd House: Communication, learning, siblings, local community, short trips, technology

The New Moon in Virgo lands in your 3rd house, spotlighting the way you communicate and the way information moves through your life. Suddenly you notice how much noise you have been carrying. Your mind can feel like every thought rushing in at once, each one insisting it is urgent. You answer texts half-finished, scroll without remembering what you were looking for, and find yourself snapping at the smallest interruptions. The Moon’s square to Uranus in Gemini can also stir surprising disruptions in your thought patterns or daily communications. A message arrives that shifts your perspective, a sibling or close friend surprises you with their honesty, or you catch yourself blurting something you did not plan to say. These interruptions may feel inconvenient in the moment, but they force you to see where your words are on autopilot and where your mind has been repeating outdated scripts.

You may find that old wounds around being misunderstood or silenced rise up in subtle ways. Perhaps you over-explain to avoid criticism, or hold back from sharing an idea because you fear rejection. This lunation invites you to pay attention to where your voice shrinks out of old habit and to remember that your words carry weight simply because they are yours. It’s helpful to remember that your words can open doors for others, that a single conversation can shift the course of your life, and that sharing your perspective is part of your spiritual path.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Practice one conversation this week where you pause before answering and notice what your body does. Do your shoulders tighten? Does your chest expand? Let that awareness guide your response instead of rushing to fill the silence.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
Where do I hold back my voice out of fear of being misunderstood, and what would it feel like to speak without pre-editing myself?

Leo Rising

→ 2nd House: Money, income, possessions, self-worth, resources, personal values

You have been measuring your worth by output lately, tallying your value in the hours you log, the invoices you send, or the recognition you receive. At first it feels motivating, but then you notice the quiet dread that creeps in when the numbers do not rise fast enough, when the applause fades, when your reflection looks tired no matter how much effort you put in. The New Moon in Virgo lands in your 2nd house, calling attention to the stories you tell yourself about money, resources, and what you deserve. This lunation wants to ask whether you believe you are already enough, before the proof, before the paycheck.

The Moon’s square to Uranus in Gemini may shake this loose in unexpected ways. A sudden expense, a career surprise, or a left-field opportunity could arrive to test your sense of stability. You may feel flashes of shame for needing help, or for not having it all perfectly figured out. Perhaps you remember times when your worth was tied to what you could provide for others, or when asking for support was met with rejection. This lunation is ultimately here to show you that tending to your resources also means tending to your sense of deservingness. When you remember that money is not just currency but energy, and that energy flows most abundantly when it is tied to values that feel soul-aligned, everything shifts.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Do one tangible act this week that reminds your body it is safe to receive. That could be allowing someone to treat you, buying yourself a small pleasure without guilt, or simply pausing to fully enjoy what you already have.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
Where am I still tying my worth to external measures, and how can I root into the kind of value that cannot be taken away?

Virgo Rising

→ 1st House: Identity, self-image, physical body, personal goals, how others see you

This New Moon is yours. It lands right in your 1st house, the part of the chart that speaks to your body, your identity, and the way you step into the world. You may feel it like a spotlight you did not ask for, suddenly aware of every habit, every flaw, every way you could be “better.” Virgo season can do that, magnifying the small details until they feel enormous. You might catch yourself rehearsing who you should be instead of noticing who you already are. Something in your work, your reputation, or the way others perceive you might shift abruptly. It could be unexpected feedback, a change in direction, or even a sudden urge to break free from expectations you have outgrown.

The disruption can sting, but it may also be the thing that frees you from identities that feel more like costumes than truths. Venus in Cancer squaring Chiron in Aries touches the softer underbelly of selfhood. You may notice the part of you that fears being seen too closely, the part that believes if someone glimpses the cracks they will turn away. The body itself may be asking for more attention. A subtle ache, a sudden wave of fatigue, a need for rest. Jupiter in Cancer trining the North Node in Pisces reminds you that relationships are part of this evolution. You are not meant to perfect yourself in isolation. The people who see you clearly, without the frame or the mask, are the ones who help you step more fully into who you are becoming.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Choose one way to honor your body as it is right now. That could be wearing something comfortable and beautiful, moving in a way that feels good instead of “productive,” or simply resting without justification.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
What parts of myself do I try to frame as “acceptable,” and what would it look like to let myself be seen without the frame?

Libra Rising

→ 12th House: Rest, solitude, subconscious, spiritual healing, hidden matters, surrender

You have been trying to keep everything balanced on the surface, but underneath there is a quiet exhaustion you cannot quite name. The New Moon in Virgo slips into your 12th house, the most hidden part of your chart, the place where the unconscious speaks in symbols and whispers. Suddenly you feel the weight of what you have been carrying in silence. The memories that surface when you try to sleep. The dreams that feel more vivid than your waking life. The sense that your body knows something your mind has not yet put into words. This lunation asks you to stop performing balance and to give yourself permission to dissolve into stillness.

The Moon’s square to Uranus in Gemini might shake your spiritual foundations in unexpected ways. A flash of insight arrives mid-conversation, or a piece of information disrupts your beliefs. It could feel destabilizing at first, like you cannot hold onto the certainty you once had. But maybe certainty was never the point. So when the mind spirals, let the body anchor you. Venus in Cancer squaring Chiron in Aries brings relationships into the picture, highlighting the tension between showing up for others and disappearing into yourself. You may feel like retreating, but part of you worries what others will think if you pull back. The people who value you will understand that solitude is part of your rhythm.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Set aside one night this week to create a ritual of rest. Dim the lights, unplug from screens, journal or meditate, and let your body reset without interruption.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
What truths or feelings emerge when I give myself permission to be still, and what am I usually afraid of hearing in that silence?

Scorpio Rising

→ 11th House: Friendships, community, long-term goals, social impact, allies

You have been noticing the fault lines in your friendships and communities. The casual acquaintanceships that leave you emptier after a gathering than before. The conversations that skim the surface while your soul craves depth. The New Moon in Virgo activates your 11th house, pulling focus to the people you keep around you and the vision you share with them. Suddenly the question is not just, “Do I belong here?” but, “Does this belonging nourish me, or does it dilute me?”

The Moon’s square to Uranus in Gemini might jolt these dynamics in unexpected ways. A friend says something that rattles you, or someone exits abruptly, leaving you to re-examine the kind of connections you truly want. It can feel destabilizing to realize how quickly social ties shift, but it may also liberate you from the obligation to stay where you have already outgrown. Uranus asks for honesty, even if it disrupts the group dynamic. You may have taken on the role of the organizer, the caretaker, the one who makes sure everything runs smoothly. But behind the scenes you feel drained, questioning if anyone would show up for you with the same devotion. You do not have to prove your worth by carrying everyone else’s vision on your back.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Choose one relationship or community space that consistently drains you and take a step back. Notice how your energy shifts without it.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
Who in my life feels like true community, and where am I still performing belonging at the expense of my own energy?

Sagittarius Rising

→ 10th House: Career, public image, reputation, achievements, leadership, legacy

You have been thinking about the long game lately, wondering what all your effort is adding up to. Maybe you catch yourself scrolling through someone else’s success story and feeling the sting of comparison. Maybe you have been working late nights and still questioning if anyone notices. The New Moon in Virgo falls in your 10th house, the place of career and legacy, and it asks you to strip the noise away and look at what you are actually building. Do your daily actions match the reputation you want to carry? Or are you propping up a picture-perfect “portrait” while secretly longing to pivot?

The Moon’s square to Uranus in Gemini suggests a jolt in your partnerships or collaborations that impacts your work. A colleague or client could surprise you, or a relationship shift might push your career in an unexpected direction. What looks like a disruption may actually be the doorway to greater authenticity in the way you are seen. The structures that are cracking were never meant to hold the real you anyway. Venus in Cancer squaring Chiron in Aries may touch a tender nerve around visibility. You might feel the fear of being too much, or the ache of not being recognized enough. There is a sense of putting your heart into something and wondering if the world has room for it.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Write down one core value that matters more to you than money, titles, or recognition. Let it guide your decisions for the next month in your work and public life.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
What do I want to be known for when the surface accomplishments fade, and how can I start living that legacy now?

Capricorn Rising

→ 9th House: Travel, higher learning, philosophy, spirituality, publishing, worldview

You have been craving a bigger horizon, though you might not have admitted it out loud. The familiar structures you usually lean on feel a little too rigid, a little too small, and your mind keeps wandering beyond them. The New Moon in Virgo opens your 9th house, the space of expansion and vision, and it plants the seed of a new philosophy. At first it may show up as restlessness, a nagging voice that asks “is this really all there is?” This lunation is trying to remind you that even the most carefully built life still needs room for growth, mystery, and risk.

The Moon’s square to Uranus in Gemini may jolt your daily rhythms, forcing you to confront the tension between order and adventure. A disruption in your work or health routines could leave you frustrated, but it may also point out how much you have been limiting yourself by staying in the lines. Sometimes the most meaningful philosophies are not formed in libraries, they are lived in the unexpected moments that demand flexibility. Venus in Cancer squaring Chiron in Aries could stir tension in relationships close to home. A partner, family member, or friend may not share your hunger for expansion, leaving you feeling torn between duty and freedom.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Feed your curiosity in one deliberate way this month. Sign up for a class, start a new book, or have a conversation with someone who lives differently than you do.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
Where have I been limiting my growth out of a need for safety, and what is one small risk I can take to expand my world?

Aquarius Rising

→ 8th House: Shared resources, intimacy, transformation, debts, inheritances, shadow work

You have been skimming the surface of certain conversations, avoiding the deeper truths because they feel too charged, too vulnerable, or too messy to hold. The New Moon in Virgo enters your 8th house, the territory of intimacy and shared resources, and suddenly the things you have kept tucked away are harder to ignore. The unpaid debt, the simmering resentment, the unspoken truth in a relationship, all of it begins to rise. Virgo wants to sort, organize, and make sense of the chaos, but the 8th house reminds you that not everything can be cleaned up with a spreadsheet. Some things have to be felt, metabolized, and transformed.

The Moon’s square to Uranus in Gemini adds unpredictability. A sudden disclosure, an unexpected shift in finances, or a sharp turn in a close connection might jolt you awake. At first it feels destabilizing, but the disruption is not random. It is clearing space for honesty, the kind that does not just patch over the cracks but actually rebuilds the foundation. Venus in Cancer squaring Chiron in Aries highlights how your daily responsibilities, your body, and your sense of identity intersect with intimacy. You might feel tender around asking for help, worried it makes you weak, or guilty when your needs take up space. It is the entry point to real connection. The body often carries what the mouth will not say, and you may notice old wounds surfacing as physical tension or stress. Pay attention before it demands your full attention.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Have one honest conversation this week about something you have been avoiding, whether it is about money, intimacy, or a need for deeper support. Keep it simple and real.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:
Where am I still carrying the weight of unspoken truths, and what would it feel like to let them be shared or released?

Pisces Rising

→ 7th House: Relationships, partnerships, contracts, collaborations, commitments

You have been sensing shifts in your relationships, the subtle ways connection feels different than it used to. Maybe it is the way conversations skim over the surface when you are craving depth, or how commitments that once felt natural now feel a little heavy. The New Moon in Virgo lands in your 7th house, spotlighting your partnerships and agreements, and it asks you to look more closely. Not just at what you promise to others, but at what you promise to yourself. Virgo energy here is less about finding the perfect partner and more about refining the quality of the connections you allow.

The Moon’s square to Uranus in Gemini may jolt something in your home or family life that directly impacts your relationships. An unexpected change in living arrangements, family dynamics, or even a sudden realization about what stability means to you could send ripples through your partnerships. You’re here to test where the foundations are flexible and where they have grown brittle. Venus in Cancer squaring Chiron in Aries touches on self-worth wounds that show up in the context of intimacy. You may notice moments where you hold back your needs because you fear they are too much, or where you overextend yourself to feel secure. This lunation asks you to notice those patterns without judgment. Your body may already be telling the story, through tension, fatigue, or an ache that surfaces when you ignore what you need.

🫶🏼 Tip:
Name one need in a relationship that you have been softening or hiding. Voice it clearly, without apology, and notice how the space shifts when you do.

✍🏼 Journal Prompt:

Where in my relationships do I shrink to maintain peace, and what would it feel like to stay fully present without minimizing myself?
