Embody your highest self with the “Be As If” principle
The “fake it till you make it” phrase that you often hear from others should be tweaked to the phrase, “embody till you become.”
As I continue to evolve and learn the lessons from embodying different versions of me required to ascend to a higher level, I realized a common pattern:
My inner reality, dialogue, and thoughts directly reflected my outer reality.
The narrative we tell ourselves every single day when we wake up and go to bed at night creates a subconscious ripple effect on the choices we make.
What narrative is your mind currently feeding you?
Does that narrative support the story of what kind of self-image and lifestyle you would like to receive?
And how does the “As If Principle”comes into play in helping us achieve our desired reality?
The belief in who you are and what you want is embedded in the action/behavior of the desired wish rather than the current longing, the emotion attached to wanting the desired thing.
If you want to acquire the identity of a social, charismatic person, what are some of the things a sociable, charismatic person does?
Show up in people’s lives with optimism, confidence, and smile.
You can wish to be sociable and not put yourself out there because you fear rejection.
A charismatic, sociable person values vulnerability and authenticity more than the fear of rejection.
If the internal response to embodying a charismatic person is, “But I’m not that person.”
You’ve already lost. You must establish the belief that you are like water, flexible, everchanging, and that you can shift your embodiment to play any attribute in your favor to win at life.
Getting attached to a set of belief systems keeps you locked in that reality and all of your thoughts, emotions and actions are going to be equal to that inner reality. So being as if is about identifying.
The current identity you have is something that you’ve built based on your identification over what we call the past.
If you have decided in your past, “This is who I am. This is the kind of person I am. This is the kind of way I show up in the world,” you have the ability to rewrite the narrative and shift the story to match what ultimate lifestyle you would like to achieve.
There is the major difference between being as if and faking it till you make it. It’s with the realization that that’s not who you are. You’re trying to become something you’re not.
If you’re already in the mindset of, “ I have to become something else by acting,” you’re not showing up as you.
The trick is to show up believing the embodiment is simply another version of you that you can tap into at any given time to work in your favor.
Being as if is with the awareness that this is who you are. It’s a different level of identity and it’s an acceptance of the present moment. You weren’t doing this to get somewhere else. You’re not trying to escape the present moment. You’re not doing something to then escape the moment.
Instead, everything that you want and desire is already on it’s way to you. It’s already written in the timeline of your life. All you have to do is be in a state ready for receiving it — have the attributes, mindset, and grace to receive the desired reality and maintain it once it arrives to you.
Stop telling yourself the story that you aren’t currently that which you want to be. Stop looking to the outside for validation. Start looking to the inside because the outside is just a reflection of the inside.
