“The way to find a needle in a haystack is to sit down.”
-Beryl Markham, West with the Night
Welcome to Virgo season. It comes just before eclipse season, setting the stage for the next six weeks. This period will require us to not only release, but step out of the matrix of disorganization entirely. What do you allow back in so you don’t find yourself in the same exhausting cycles of purging again and again?
I think about this often when I watch the show Hoarders. I have a weird fascination with the show. A whole team can haul out truckloads of clutter, but unless the person confronts the emotional root of why they hoarded in the first place, the cycle repeats. Before long, the house fills back up. The same is true for us. Clearing is only one step. Without conscious prevention, old patterns creep back in.
This Virgo/eclipse season is telling us that releasing and decluttering is simply one part of the equation. We do need to put in preventative methods in place, so that the loop doesn’t continue on as before. Virgo asks us to sift through the aftermath and decide what’s worth carrying forward.
Know that decluttering doesn’t just have to apply to material objects. Because we’re entering a mercurial season, it is imperative to master both your negative and positive thoughts. The thought loops we have, keeps us repeating the same negative emotions, that then leads to the same actions we’re trying to then purge from. It will be helpful to be aware of this by catching your real time thoughts midway, and reframing a different/more constructive thought that takes you out of an apathetic pattern of thinking, feeling, being.
Aside from that, Virgo season also tends to illuminate the small details that shape the bigger picture: the way you spend your mornings, the words you use with yourself, the boundaries you set when your energy feels porous. These are all habits that can be cultivated organically overtime whilst reframing our beliefs around why we keep things, people, situations around that serve as dead weight to our well-being.
Virgo season also constantly reminds us that devotion without discernment can slip into martyrdom, and that refinement is less about control and more about gaining confident clarity within yourself.
So as we move through the weeks ahead, know that the medicine of Virgo season is found not in rushing ahead, but in learning how to move with precision, care, and honesty one daily routine at a time.
It’s a time for pruning what drains you, strengthening what sustains you, and remembering that the smallest acts of integrity are often the most transformative.

Now let’s do a breakdown of Virgo Season more specifically now. ↓

How to navigate Virgo Season Weekly
Week 1 of Virgo Season (August 22nd - August 31st)
Virgo season begins on August 22 🔴 with a New Moon in Virgo. Venus and Chiron stir up old aches around care and belonging. It can bring us back around to situations where we contort ourselves for approval. It may feel like you’re standing on new ground but your legs are still shaky. This isn’t a day for sprinting ahead. It’s good to ask yourself: What do I want to be devoted to if no one else was watching? This lunation day will have you consider what old loops/habits you want to release as a form of daily lifestyle practice.
A few days later, on August 24 🟢, the Sun squares Uranus and something gives way. Disruptions may feel like they’ve knocked the wind out of you, but there’s usually wisdom tucked inside. If you can soften into the surprise, it often clears space for something truer to take root. Think of it as life pruning away the branches you’ve outgrown.
August 25 🟡🟢 offers steadier ground. Venus steps into Leo and trines Saturn, bringing warmth with a touch of maturity. Collaborations or commitments today can feel solid but still alive with joy. You may realize that work doesn’t always have to be heavy. Productive doesn’t have to mean hard. You can bring a little sparkle into the serious things.
The following day, August 26 🟡🔴, the energy thickens. Venus makes several aspects to Uranus, Neptune and Pluto that heighten both magnetism, disruption and intensity. You might feel pulled into deeper dynamics with others, some illuminating, others exhausting. This is one of those days where discernment matters. Not every invitation or spark needs your energy. Notice what feels inspiring versus what feels like an old wound replaying itself.
On August 28 🟢🟡, Uranus and Neptune form a supportive connection, widening your perspective. This is a good day for tapping into vision, for remembering you’re part of something larger than your own deadlines. Whether through creative work, spiritual practice, or community, you may feel plugged into a current bigger than yourself.
The week closes gently on August 31 🟢 with Mercury trine Chiron. Words carry healing power today. Conversations can soften sharp edges, and your own reflections might bring clarity you didn’t realize you needed. It’s a reminder that language, when offered with sincerity, can mend as much as it explains.
So this first week of Virgo season asks you to begin softly. There’s no rush to prove yourself. The momentum will build, but only if you give yourself permission to start from a place of quiet honesty.
Week 2 of Virgo Season (Sept 1st - Sept 7th)
The week begins on September 1 🔴, when Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces. It feels like a karmic checkpoint, a pause that asks you to take stock of your choices and commitments. There’s no rushing Saturn. If something feels heavy today, that’s a signal to slow down and reflect, not to push harder. Think of it as an invitation to lay down the weight that isn’t truly yours to carry.
Clarity returns on September 2 🟢, as Mercury enters Virgo. This is Virgo’s favorite terrain, where mental fog begins to clear and systems click into place. It’s a supportive day for organizing, writing, or tending to details that require precision. If you’ve been spinning in uncertainty, this is a good time to map your next steps in a grounded way.
The pace shifts again on September 3 🔴, when Mercury squares Uranus. Curveballs may arrive through miscommunications, tech glitches, or surprising news. The best way through is flexibility. Rather than clinging to the plan, treat disruptions as a chance to pivot toward something fresh.
On September 4 🔴🟡, Mars squares Jupiter, and the energy balloons. This can be exhilarating but also overwhelming. The temptation will be to say yes to everything, to overextend, or to charge ahead without pacing yourself. If you can channel this into movement, play, or creative expression, the excess becomes joyful instead of draining.
The very next day, September 5 🔴, Uranus stations retrograde, shaking the ground beneath routines and long-term plans. This is another day for caution, not acceleration. Uranus retrograde often reveals what isn’t working, so if something feels unstable, see it as information rather than failure.
Finally, September 7 🔴, the Full Moon in Pisces arrives as a total lunar eclipse. This is one of the most intense release points of the season. Emotions may feel oceanic, rising and crashing without clear direction. Let what wants to dissolve, dissolve. You don’t have to hold everything together. Sometimes endings clear the way for healing that can’t happen while we’re gripping tightly to the familiar.
So this second week of Virgo season carries a mix of pauses and floods. Instead of forcing the momentum…I would instead notice what breaks open when you step back. The clarity will come, but only after the waters have moved through.
Week 3 of Virgo Season (Sept 8th - Sept 14th)
After the intensity of last week’s eclipse, the energy lightens. It may feel like the storm has passed and you can finally start to make sense of what shifted. This is the week where small sparks of hope and clarity return, reminding you that growth doesn’t only happen in just only the heavy moments.
On September 12 🟢🟡, the Sun and Mercury both connect with Jupiter. These are buoyant, uplifting aspects, perfect for momentum in work and in relationships. Optimism returns here in subtle but noticeable ways. You may find that plans click into place, conversations go smoothly, or opportunities arrive that feel expansive. It’s a good time to say yes to collaboration or to simply allow yourself to feel possibility again.
The very next day, September 13 🟢, Mercury conjuncts the Sun in a cazimi. This is a bright flare of mental clarity, almost like the universe handing you a clean sheet of paper. If you’ve been stuck in confusion, this can be a reset moment for your thoughts. Pay attention to insights that surface, no matter how small, they may become the anchor for your next chapter.
This week is softer, steadier, and easier to move through. After the turbulence of the eclipse, it’s a reminder that clarity doesn’t need to be forced. It arrives when the noise begins to quiet.
Week 4 of Virgo Season (Sept 15th - Sept 22nd)
This final stretch of Virgo season carries a bittersweet quality, as if you’re walking between doors, some closing, some opening. The themes of healing, discernment, and surrender run strong here. It’s less about pushing and more about noticing what your energy is no longer willing to carry.
On September 15 🟡, Venus sextiles Mars and brings a playful spark. Connections may feel warm and easy, a reminder that joy and pleasure are still part of the work of being human. Let yourself lean into lightness where you can.
But the days that follow tug at more tender threads. September 16 🔴 brings both Venus and Mars into contact with Chiron, highlighting relational aches and the places where agency and intimacy feel tangled. If old wounds are stirred, the medicine is in slowing down rather than trying to fix. September 17 🔴 adds a Mercury–Saturn opposition, a day that can feel mentally heavy. This is not the time to force decisions or push through walls. Rest is wiser than resistance.
By September 18 🟢🔴, Mercury shifts into Libra and forms a tangle of aspects, trines to Uranus and Pluto, but an opposition to Neptune. The result is a mixed bag: breakthroughs in thinking paired with waves of confusion. Trust what feels clear in your body, and let the rest float by without needing to pin it down.
The days that follow continue the theme of tension. September 19 🔴 as Venus enters Virgo, relationships may take on a more serious or practical tone. On September 20 🔴, Venus squares Uranus and the Sun opposes Saturn, bringing restriction and sudden shifts that feel weighty. These are caution days, best navigated with patience and care.
Finally, September 21 🔴, the New Moon and solar eclipse in Virgo closes the season. This is not a typical New Moon where you set bold intentions. Eclipses unravel what is unstable and set change into motion whether or not you are ready. The most powerful way to meet this moment is with quiet honesty, asking yourself what needs release, and what you’re willing to make space for.
The week ends on September 22 🟡🟢, with the Sun moving into Libra and Mars entering Scorpio. There is a sense of fresh momentum after a long cycle of reckoning. It’s a reminder that endings and beginnings are often braided together.
