I’ll be turning 33 this weekend. Weeks leading up to this solar return, I’ve been playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on my husband’s xbox. In the game, there is a yearly event called the Gommage. Every year, there’s an important number on a giant monolith that drops by one.
The story at the beginning of game shows the year it drops from 34 to 33. And the moment it does, every person who is 34 years old, dissolves into light and essentially dies. Anyone older has already died in previous Gommage years because once the number drops below your age, your time is up. There are no elders left. The world keeps losing a layer of itself, one age at a time, until it reaches zero, and everyone’s gone essentially. (I know it’s morbid).
The only people who can go on the expedition to end the Gommage “curse” are those who are the same number as the “new year”. So when the world enters year 33, the 33 year olds have incentive to go. Younger ones can choose to go too, but they usually stay behind with family because of how finite time is. The 33 year olds are the ones with both urgency and fate pressing behind them. They are the ones standing at the exact intersection of life and death, tasked with ending the cycle. And so the entire game begins.

Watching that story while approaching 33 felt unnervingly cathartic. I have been in a Saturn year, and my soul feels it. Finding my 1st white hair this year alone was symbolic of that. I refrained from plucking it because I felt this odd sense of reverence of earning my 1st silver strand.
Saturn natally in my 9th house of beliefs, higher thinking, faith was massively tested just by processing the state of the world and the destruction of my country. This country I deeply loved is increasingly becoming more foreign, scary, unrecognizable to me.
I have been trying to hold on to a version of America that is slipping through my fingers. Witnessing an ICE raid in a parking lot five minutes from my home shattered any illusion that I could pretend everything was still normal. If covid year didn’t do it, I think this year definitely cracked something open in me that cannot close back up.
Saturn also rules the passing of time. Mortality. I get the persistent ache of anticipatory grief as I prepare to leave the United States for Spain next year. My guides have been strong nudging me toward this transition for several months now even though I originally had no intention of leaving last year. There is a chapter waiting for me across the ocean. But leaving means I may be saying goodbye to certain family members for the last time. There is no illusion pleasant enough to soften that reality.
Here’s a part of me I rarely speak about:
The ability to sense when someone’s timeline (life) is ending.
It has happened too many times to dismiss, and I have learned not to wield it carelessly.
I say this with a lot of caution because of the stigma it carries. And for the most part, many people cannot handle these types of messages, so not only would it be highly unethical, it would be psychologically damaging to share it. It has been heavy and confusing at times. I’ve chosen to keep many of these moments to myself unless absolutely necessary.
Here’s 1 of many examples.
About 10 years ago, I had a strong sense my cousin’s best friend was at the end of her timeline in a matter of a few days, even though she looked perfectly healthy and had no history of medical conditions, and was about to go off to college in a few months. I told my cousin to reach out, to connect, to not delay. She got angry with me, thought I was being dramatic, paranoid or dark.
Less than 48 hours later… her friend went to sleep with a migraine and never woke up. Meningitis had reached her brain. My cousin called me in shock and sorrow. I’m glad my cousin in the end made peace with her best friend’s death. At the same time… I realized that these messages cannot be shared recklessly. It must be held with responsibility.
Fast forward to this year, I received several messages from my guides about certain loved ones in my life and their timelines approaching. These are people I am very close to.
The visions left me shaken for months. I know them well enough to understand that they would not be able to handle this information, which made the weight of it even heavier. So for now, I’m carrying it on my own with as much tenderness and care as possible.
I also saw my own life timeline branching in two drastically directions depending on whether I stayed in the United States or left by a certain window of time. I will not disclose the details because the information is extremely sensitive, but it is one of the many reasons the decision to move to Spain became non negotiable for me. This entire year has felt like an initiation. A spiritual test that asked me to grow up in a way that is difficult to explain to anyone who has never carried these kinds of messages.
Sagittarius has always carried the image of centaurs and wild horses for me, and next year in Chinese astrology happens to be the Horse Year. It hit me only recently that exactly twelve years ago, during the last Horse Year, I traveled to Spain for the first time and fell in love with it in a way I could never fully explain.
I never planned my move to Spain to sync with this cycle. Yet somehow everything is aligning on its own. In astrocartography, Spain sits near my North Node line, which is ruled by Sagittarius in my natal chart. It feels like a cosmic callback. A quiet message from the universe saying, you have found your way back to the same archetype. I was given a glimpse of this future chapter twelve years ago, long before I knew how significant it would become.
Funny how life works, right?

Looking back, this year felt like a holding pattern while everything came crashing down, but maybe that was the point. Maybe I needed one final year to process the end, and rest before the next wild horse journey begins. Maybe turning 33 is my own expedition. My own crossing into an unknown terrain where life and death, endings and beginnings, make a different kind of sense.
Just like the characters who step into year 33 with both fear and purpose, I feel the same threshold under my feet. The next chapter is waiting. The call has already been made. And all I can do now is meet it with presence, humility, and a lantern bright enough to guide me toward whatever awaits on the other side.
And if you are reading this, I hope something in your own story begins to line up next year in a way that surprises you with renewed purpose. I hope you feel your inner wild horse stirring again, ready to run toward a horizon that finally makes sense for who you are becoming. Let’s get into Sagittarius season now.

Start of Sagittarius Season (Nov 21 to Dec 1)
The first stretch of Sagittarius season brings a shift from Scorpio’s emotional depth into a more spacious, meaning seeking mindset. There is a desire to reconnect with possibility, but the energy is not fully clear yet. With the Sun entering Sagittarius while Mercury remains retrograde, the season still feels like a holding pattern, and that can cause frustration, restlessness since Mars is in Sagittarius for the bulk of this season. Sudden insights (adding to more potential restlessness) may surface as the Sun meets Uranus, which can highlight what no longer fits in your life or identity. Treat these early days as an orientation period rather than a launch. Know that if you do feel like you’re currently in a holding pattern, it’s not just you…and this too shall pass.
Jupiter is also retrograde in Cancer, and this tones down the usual outward expansion that people associate with Sagittarius season. Instead of running toward the next big thing, Jupiter invites you to return to the emotional roots of your choices. Growth still happens, but through nourishment, honesty, and reconnecting with what feels truly meaningful and in integrity for you. You may find yourself questioning whether your goals still reflect your deeper values or if they were built around past versions of you. This is a time to examine the foundation beneath your ambitions before adding more to your plate.
Trying to force yourself to add ambitious goals with tight deadlines on your plate now may backfire on you because many of the insights you receive at this time require patience and a slow unraveling.
When Mercury retrogrades back to the sign of Scorpio, this further supports the need for an internal review. Conversations, memories, and realizations from the past few months may resurface to help you integrate lessons before moving forward. Clarity will emerges slowly again as Mercury stations direct on November 29. Venus in supportive dialogue with Jupiter and Saturn will also offer steady connection and grounded hope as you move through the remainder of this year. The most aligned approach during this first part of Sagittarius season is to listen closely to your inner truth. Adjust gently where needed. By the time momentum builds, you will be moving in a direction that is emotionally anchored rather than driven by pressure or distraction.
Nov 21 - 🟡🔴 Sun enters Sagittarius | Sun in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus
The shift into Sagittarius brings a lift in energy, but the Sun opposite Uranus may trigger restlessness or sudden emotional reactions. If you feel the urge to make a quick change, check if it is coming from avoidance or genuine growth. Begin the season with clear intention rather than impulsive escape.
Nov 22 - 🟢 Mercury Rx trine Saturn Rx & Jupiter Rx
Conversations and reflections gain structure today. This is a productive moment to revisit plans, commitments, or ideas that lost momentum. If you slow down and think things through, clarity emerges around what is worth continuing and what needs refinement.
Nov 24 - 🟡 Mercury Rx conjoins Venus in Scorpio
Emotions and communication mix in a way that brings truth to the surface. Expect honest conversations, deeper bonding, or realizations about what feels aligned in your relationships. Speak with care so that vulnerability leads to closeness rather than misunderstanding.
Nov 26 - 🟢 Venus trine Jupiter & Saturn
There is ease in both connection and commitment today. Relationships, creative work, and financial decisions benefit from steady, grounded expansion. What grows now has long term potential, especially if it aligns with your values and supports your well being.
Nov 27 - 🟡 Saturn stations direct in Pisces | First Quarter Moon in Pisces
Saturn shifting direct helps you see where emotional boundaries or spiritual maturity are needed. The First Quarter Moon adds momentum, helping you act on the insights that surfaced earlier this month. Small decisive steps taken today support long term emotional stability.
Nov 29 - 🟢🔴 Mercury stations direct in Scorpio | Venus in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus
Mercury direct clears mental fog and helps conversations move forward, but Venus opposite Uranus can shake relationships or financial expectations. Stay flexible and avoid reacting impulsively to surprise feelings or changes. Let clarity settle before making a big decision.
Nov 30 - 🟡 Venus trine Neptune | Venus enters Sagittarius
There is a dreamy, idealistic tone to relationships and creative expression today. Let yourself enjoy connection and inspiration without overromanticizing outcomes. As Venus enters Sagittarius, desire shifts toward freedom, authenticity, and shared experiences that feel meaningful.
Middle of Sagittarius Season (Dec 2 to Dec 11)
This middle stretch of Sagittarius season feels like coming up for air after a long internal review. The reflective tone is still present, but there is finally some movement and motivation again. The Full Moon in Gemini on December 4 brings clarity through conversations, realizations, or a shift in perspective. Something that has been sitting in the back of your mind becomes easier to articulate. Try not to overthink it. Let the truth land, even if it feels different from what you expected.
Even with this forward motion, Jupiter retrograde in Cancer keeps the pace gentle and emotionally aware. Growth is not about big leaps right now. It is about choosing what actually feels nourishing and aligned rather than performing enthusiasm or pushing yourself past capacity. Mars trine Chiron reminds you that courage comes in all shapes and sizes. Meet yourself where you’re at, and start small, slowly stretch as you gain your courage. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is move slowly, honor your limits, and act from a place that feels honest rather than pressured.
By the time Mercury enters Sagittarius on December 11, your mindset starts to expand again. There is more optimism, more curiosity, and more willingness to see the bigger picture. You may feel ready to talk about the future in a way that does not feel forced or idealistic, but grounded in what you now understand about yourself because of the hermit stage you took part in. This part of the season is about rebuilding trust in your direction. Small steps count. Consistency counts.
Dec 2 - 🟢 Venus sextile Pluto
This is a powerful day for honest connection, emotional depth, and transformative conversations. Intimacy strengthens when you show your real self rather than the version you think others expect.
Dec 4 - 🟡 Full Moon in Gemini
Expect heightened conversations, new information, and faster mental energy. This Moon brings clarity to a story that began around the New Moon in Gemini six months ago. Choose your words with intention, since emotions may come through logic today.
Dec 5 - 🟢 Mars trine Chiron
There is supportive energy for healing through action. Taking even one step toward something you have avoided can weaken an old fear. Courage lands more easily when it is aligned with personal growth rather than force.
Dec 6 - 🟢 Mercury in Scorpio trines Jupiter Rx in Cancer
A good day for honest dialogue, problem solving, or having a conversation that needs emotional depth and wisdom. Speaking truth with care has the potential to strengthen trust and support resolution.
Dec 8 - 🔴 Mars (25°15’ Sagittarius) squares Saturn (25°15’ Pisces)
Expect friction between desire and limits. You may feel blocked, delayed, or questioned just as you try to move forward. Do not force progress. Slow, patient steps prevent burnout and help you avoid acting from frustration instead of clarity.
Dec 10 - 🔴🟢 Neptune stations direct in Pisces | Mercury in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus
Neptune direct can bring a subtle lift in intuition and creative flow, but Mercury opposite Uranus may trigger mental overwhelm or reactive conversations. Insights arrive suddenly, so take space before responding. Let clarity land before acting on any disruptive news or ideas.
Dec 11 - 🟡 Mercury trine Neptune | Mercury enters Sagittarius
Conversations feel more open, imaginative, and future oriented. This is a social day that supports inspiration and honest expression. Share ideas that excite you, but avoid assumptions or exaggerations.
End of Sagittarius Season (Dec 12 to Dec 21)
The final part of Sagittarius season is where the insights you gathered earlier meet real life choices. Mars entering Capricorn on December 15 shifts the energy from dreaming to doing. This is the point where you can start putting structure around something you care about, even if the first steps are small. Focus on one area of your life that needs more consistency or follow through. It could be a habit that supports your wellbeing, a project you set aside, or a boundary that needs to be reinforced. Treat this period as the bridge between inspiration and commitment.
The days leading up to the New Moon come with some fog and self doubt due to the Sun and Venus interacting with Saturn and Neptune. Instead of trying to push through or figure everything out, simplify. If something feels confusing, postpone big decisions and stick to what you know is true today. Limit external input. Reduce the amount of opinions, content, or advice you absorb, because this part of the season requires your judgment, not more noise. Keep your routine steady, manage your energy intentionally, and choose honesty over avoidance when discomfort arises.
The New Moon in Sagittarius on December 19 offers a clean reset, but it works best if your intentions are realistic. Choose one to three goals that you are willing to show up for consistently, not just when motivated. Ask yourself: what belief, habit, or pattern needs to change for my goals to actually work in practice. As the Sun enters Capricorn on December 21, take note of what held up under reflection this season and what collapsed once you stopped romanticizing it. The wisdom here is simple: carry forward only what you are willing to maintain, support, or repair. Let everything else go without over-explaining it.
Dec 13 - 🟢 Mercury sextile Pluto
A strong day for direct communication and cutting through mental clutter. If there is a topic you have avoided, approaching it with honesty can produce a clear shift. Truth lands well when delivered with respect.
Dec 14 - 🔴🟢 Mars in Sag square Neptune in Pisces | Sun trine Chiron
There may be confusion or lack of motivation, especially if you try to rush something that requires spiritual alignment. If you feel drained or uncertain, pause and recalibrate rather than push. The Sun trine Chiron helps soften self judgment and supports choosing compassion instead of force.
Dec 15 - 🟢 Mars enters Capricorn
Drive becomes more focused and disciplined. This is a grounded day to start long term plans or take practical steps that require sustained effort. Energy applied with strategy now can produce results over time.
Dec 16 - 🔴 Sun in Sagittarius squares Saturn in Pisces
Reality checks may surface around goals, beliefs, or personal expectations. If doubt or pressure emerges, avoid interpreting it as failure. This transit highlights where you need clearer boundaries or more honest priorities before moving forward.
Dec 18 - 🟢 Venus trine Chiron
Healing conversations and supportive connections are possible today. Vulnerability feels constructive rather than heavy. Allow yourself to receive care or acknowledgment without minimizing it.
Dec 19 - 🟢 New Moon in Sagittarius
A clean slate opens around vision, beliefs, and future direction. Set intentions that align with personal truth rather than external validation. This is a strong moment to commit to growth that expands both your perspective and your lived experience.
Dec 20 - 🔴 Sun square Neptune | Venus in Sagittarius squares Saturn in Pisces
Clarity may feel blurred or motivation low. Avoid taking things at face value or making assumptions about relationships or opportunities. This is not a good day for big commitments. Rest, reassess expectations, and stay grounded in what is real rather than idealized.
Dec 21 - 🔴🟡 Jupiter square Chiron | Sun enters Capricorn
Old beliefs about self worth or success may feel tender as Jupiter highlights an active Chiron wound. Be mindful of comparing your path to others. As the Sun enters Capricorn, shift from vision to practical structure. Celebrate how far you have come before deciding your next move.
To work with the energy of this Sagittarius Season:
-
This is a great season to audit your beliefs. Write down 3 beliefs you lived by this year that no longer feel true. Replace each with one belief that feels more accurate for who you are now.
-
Reduce information overload by consciously choosing one teacher, one book, or one path to learn from this month. Sagittarius growth requires depth, not endless consumption.
-
Track what drains your optimism. Notice who or what consistently leaves you discouraged or cynical. Set one boundary or limit exposure, even if that boundary is internal.
-
Choose one future direction that feels meaningful enough to stay committed to. Make it clear and measurable so it guides your decisions through the next quarter.
-
Move your body to move your mindset. Sagittarius rules the thighs and movement. Commit to a physical practice that shakes off mental stagnation like walking outdoors, stretching hips every week.
-
Strengthen your tolerance for uncertainty. Identify one area where you tend to seek control or quick answers. Practice delaying the need for clarity by 24 hours before reacting or deciding.
